AO Trauma Seminar—Complex Lower Extremity Injuries in Manila










We are delighted to have been part of the 2025 AO Trauma Seminar—Complex Lower Extremity Injuries in Manila! The event organized by AO Trauma Philippines was held at Marco Polo Ortigas from June 6-7, 2025.
The International meeting was fully booked with highly esteemed foreign faculty and attendees from three continents across many countries. 🇵🇭 🇹🇭 🇮🇳 🇨🇴 🇦🇺
Participants learned the current management of patient problems related to complex trauma of the lower limb. Fractures from the pelvis and acetabulum to the foot and ankle were covered as well as joint injuries, dislocations and soft tissue injuries. Comprehensive care for the acute trauma phase and the post-traumatic sequelae such as malunion, nonunion, and infection were shown.
The Philippine Orthoapedic Trauma Society has been refreshed as The Association of Filipino Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeons (AFOTS), and its annual meeting concluded right after the seminar.
Dr. Chinkin Coruña delivered topics ranging from open ankle injuries, their posterior fixation, and talus fractures. Dr. Coruña is an orthopedic surgeon based in Bacolod City, Philippines.
